My friend, Kristin, made the best “Boo Baskets” and I wanted her to share them with you! These DIY baskets are perfect for getting your family and friends excited for Halloween.
Spooky season is finally here!! And what better way to kick things off, than with a festive Boo Basket filled with everything to get you in that spooky frame of mind.
What exactly is a Boo Basket?
It’s basically a fun way to surprise your friends and neighbors around Halloween with a basket full of treats that you drop off on their porch. They, in turn, get “Booed.” That neighbor can then take it a step further by making their own Boo Basket and gifting it to another neighbor!
Because we were keeping it low key last year during Halloween (stupid Covid), I made my kids their own basket of goodies in lieu of candy, which they LOVED. That was my first introduction into the Boo Basket world, and I’m excited to spread that joy to a few friends this year!
The best thing about creating a “Boo Basket” (or bucket, bag, etc.), is that you can really make it into anything you want. Making one for your adult friends? Pop in some canned cocktails, candies, or fun socks to get them in the spirit. If you’re going the kids route, you can’t go wrong with creepy crafts, themed pencils, or of course, treats! For my basket, I decided to do a mixture of the two…after all, Halloween isn’t just for kids right?
Kid-friendly options:

Pop everything into your basket and don’t forget to add a “boo” tag to finish it off. Below is a free printable tag that you can download and customize with your name, or make into a craft project with your littles.
Download your free printable Boo Tag here. Write your family’s name on the tag, glue it to a wooden stick or tie to a ribbon, pop it in the basket and drop it off on your neighbor’s porch!
Your friends and family will be so excited to receive such a creative gift! -Kristin
