Hey! My name is Stevie Barefield and I’m the creator of Our FW | TX Home. I love to write and I am currently turning my home into a home I love. I’ve come to realize that your visual surroundings impact your functionality and mood throughout the day, at least they do for me. This has become more apparent to me as I navigate working full time from home. So I thought I would document it.
It was always my belief to not put too much effort into decor when I knew I was going to move. Like when we lived in apartments.
I started focusing on adding different components to my home that bring me (and my husband) happiness. Included in this is not only decor, but organizational tactics, helpful tools, easy DIY projects, recipes, fashion, etc. And I do all of this pretty affordably. Sometimes I’ll splurge, but for the most part, it’s important I do this on a budget. And I want to share all the finds!
My husband and I moved to Fort Worth, Texas four years ago and we don’t plan on leaving. If you’ve ever been here, you know. We came to Texas via Southern California, Alabama, Louisiana, Oklahoma and all of that has contributed to our aesthetic. It’s a little bit cowboy, and little southwestern, a little California cool, and a pinch of the deep South.
I don’t have interior design experience but the right side of my brain has always worked a little harder. I do have a background in product and graphic design though so I’d like to think that helps. I learn new things everyday and I look forward to growing my creative side with this blog. I’m also excited to find inspiration from anyone willing to share their knowledge!
